In a world where children face numerous emotional hurdles, Safe Space is committed to supporting their growth and resilience. Our programs, developed by psychologists and informed by neuroscience, cater to their unique emotional needs and foster trauma-informed environments. We offer two options for each program: one providing personalized, intensive attention to small groups, and the other designed for larger audiences to ignite a ripple effect of positive transformation, resonating deeply with parents and educators alike.

Q3: What is SEL?

SEL stands for Social and Emotional Learning. It equips children and adolescents with tools that fosters empathy, communication, and cooperation, helping children build and maintain healthy relationships.

Q4: What is Building Blocks of Resilience?

Building Blocks of Resilience” is a dynamic resilience building program based on Social and Emotional learning, designed by psychologists to help children aged 4 to 12 overcome life’s challenges.

Q5: What is Mind the Clock?

The Mind the Clock workshop merges time management techniques with mind mapping strategies to help children overcome procrastination and boost their self-assurance, resulting in improved academic progress.

Q6: What is Bold and Brave?

The Bold and Brave program is tailored for teenagers and young adults aged 13 – 25 aiming to equip them with the necessary tools to build confidence, navigate the world, and embrace taking risks.

Q7: What other services do you offer?

We offer Individualized Coaching sessions and wellness workshops for corporates, schools and other organizations. 

Q8: How long does the program run for?

Our Building Blocks of resilience and Bold and Brave runs onces a week for 6 consecutive weeks and Mind the Clock runs once a week for two consecutive weeks.

Q9: Who conducts the programs?

Our programs are conducted by experienced educators with a background in Psychology. For more details on our team, please check out Meet the Team. 

Q10: How do children benefit from this program?

SEL programs enhance children’s abilities to manage emotions, set positive goals, show empathy, maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. This can lead to better focus and academic performance.

Children develop coping strategies to handle stress, setbacks, and challenges more effectively.

Q11: How do parents benefit from this program?

SEL programs often provide parents with tools and strategies to support their children’s emotional and social development.

With improved communication and emotional regulation in the household, parents often experience less stress and more harmonious family dynamics.

Parents benefit from learning emotional regulation strategies, which can improve their own mental health and well-being.

Q12: Are the sessions done online or physical?

Our group sessions are all physical. However, if required, individual sessions can be done online. 

Q13: What language do you conduct the program in?

Our sessions are primarily conducted in English. Our team consists of members who speak Sinhala and Tamil as well and if needed can translate some componenets. 

Q14: Does The Safe Space do any community services?

Yes we do! We work with schools, orphanages and other mental well-being facilitators. Please reach out to us for more information.
